What Game modes can I play through the App?

    Hi!

I used to play iOS game until in summer of this year the iOS app was yanked and a subscription version was offered. I liked the game as it was quite much so I signed up for annual subscription. In the free version the app offered coins depending on how close your guess was and using those game coins I had unlocked quite a few maps. Lo and behold - I pay for annual subscription and what do I get? Classic mode and country streak. Yeah, there are competitive options for both but I am not cool with those. I just play for my own entertainment and love of geography. It's been nearly 8 months and I am still unable to have the options of other maps that I had on free app. I can't believe that it takes sooo long to include these other maps like EU, Asia, US, Famous places, etc. in iOS app - especially since they are available for online play. I am in IT for over 30 years and it is inconceivable that even after 8 months you are not offering all the modes that were available in free app and are available in online game. I feel really robbed - one fine day you take away the full version of app, make it subscription version for which I forked out whatever price you guys fixed - no questions asked - only to realize that I am unable to enjoy the full version of game. What is the real hurdle? You guys can add competitive versions for the gamers who thrive on them - I have no problem with it. But please don't do it at the cost of simple folks like me who prefer individual version - just play because I like it.

It's amazing that above reply has not even been updated which means no one has bothered to keep us mere mortals updated on what is the timetable for other game modes, maps, etc. It surely can't be 8 months when you have all the modules ready!

So just because there are probably fewer players who are not interested in competitive modes, it doesn't mean we should be ignored.

Hopefully after waiting for full version of game after paying for it, I really hope someone looks into this soon enough.

Now being used to writing such blunt messages, I feel bad but it's about time we get the full iOS version

    Regards,

    Cathy.

We have a lot of new Maps on the App, but this article might not have been updated. We have over 100 maps on the App under Classic which have been there for around 5 months I believe.

We also have play with friends parties on the app which is not competitive, and are also working on a more zen-mode for mobile only.

Sorry for the typo in last sentence.

Thanks for prompt response - it was nice to get a reply. I understand what you mean. But I am really happy playing by myself. Granted, friends parties may be the in thing - especially since last two years when almost everywhere people have been forced to socially distance due to unfortunate circumstances; I have heard similar friends parties for watching TV, Zoom get-togethers, etc. After all, we are social creatures. But after being in all kinds ot Zoom/ Webex - you name it - meetings through long days, it is nice to be able to have some quiet and personal time to wind down playing GeoGuessr. I have ot hand it to you guys, superb game based on Google maps and other tools. I understand when you develop a game/ app using these tools, it's not free to you guys. That's why I didn't think twice when you change the model to subscription model. What hurts is, in spite of paying for annual Pro subscription, I am left craving for the complete gamut of modes of play.

Again, I appreciate the professionalism you displayed in replying to my comment so quickly. Maybe I am the odd one out - but I miss the other maps...

Have a good day and hoping for a good surprise.

    Cathy.
