Placement and Season points
TLDR:
Placement points
Points gained by your placement in ranked games (winning duels or finishing top 3 in BR). These will decide your weekly award.
Season points
Season points are your placements points multiplied by your divison. These will decide your position on the seasonal leaderboard as well as your end of the season trophy.
Placement points
Placement points are awarded during the first 10 Duels and first 5 Battle Royale Distance, 5 Battle Royale Countries.
Winning in Duels gives you 10 placement points.
In Battle Royale, the placement points are awarded as follows:
1st place - 10 placement points
2nd place - 7 placement points
3rd place - 5 placement points
Placement points are collected in order to obtain awards every Weekly series. You can earn one weekly award per week, in all 3 game mode.
Bronze award - 10 placement points
Silver award - 20 placement points
Gold award - 30 placement points
Season Points
Season points are based on your placement points and division. Whenever you gain placement points, you will gain season points equal to your placement points multiplied by your division-specific multiplier. An overview of the divisions and their respective multiplier:
Bronze: x1
Silver: x1.5
Gold: x2.5 in Duels, x4 in Battle Royale
Master: x4
Champion: x7 (In Duels, x4 in Battle Royale)
Season points determine your place on the seasonal leaderboard as well as your end of the season trophy.
Placement points and Mixed divisions
To improve queue times when finding a match, our matchmaking system will group players who are in a division higher than Silver together in Battle Royale. We understand that this is disadvantageous for players in the Gold division. Therefore, there is a secondary placement points system active exclusively for Gold players.
1st place (excluding Master and Champion players) - 3 placement points
2nd place (excluding Master and Champion players) - 2 placement points
3rd place (excluding Master and Champion players) - 1 placement points
The points calculated by this secondary system are only awarded if the Gold player in question did not finish in the actual top 3 of the overall lobby (including Master and Champion players).
Example:
1st place: Elizabeth (Champion) - 10 placement points
2nd place: Louis (Gold) - 7 placement points
3rd place: Eugene (Master) - 5 placement points
4th place: Vanessa (Gold) - 2 placement points
5th place: Carla (Gold) - 1 placement point
The points awarded for the top three are always the same: 10, 7 and 5. After that the secondary system ignores all non-Gold players in the lobby and hands out points based on that.
- Louis finished first amongst Gold players, but he has already received points from the primary system so he does not get any extra.
- Vanessa finished second amongst Gold players and has not received any points from the primary system since she finished outside of the top 3, so the secondary system awards her 2 points.
- Same goes for Carla, who finished third amongst Golds and gets awarded a single point.
